The Map Projects are a series of pieces
written through the translation of visual map information into sound.
Each of these works are manifold compositions. Meaning
that the compositional process allows for randomness, and this randomness
creates a different version of the work each time the process is run.
All of these works are created using SCuD (Simplified Compositional
Development) and DISCO (a M4C family synthesizer, developed at the
Computer
Music Project at the University of Illinois).
