The piece was originally written for choreographer Shereen Kinney. The first movement Blood was premiered on April 26th, 1997. The work was premiered in its entirety the following month at the choreographer's senior recital.
The work attempts to portray different systems of the body through sound. The sounds evoke the circulatory, respiratory, and electrical systems in their manner of operation. The final movement portrays the intense traffic and sounds of all these systems working together.
